Divisions (50 entries in each division): 3 person teams!
Northwest Fitness Gamestm is hitting the road once again to start the summer of 2015 and this time we’re going over the mountain to Bend for the inaugural DESCHUTES DEMOLITIONtm. We’re excited to introduce an interesting new competition format…we’re calling it the “third wheel” or “menage-a-WOD” This is a mixed gender competition (MF), but you are able to add one additional athlete and YOU pick their gender. To be clear, their will be NO ADVANTAGE to having an extra gal instead of an extra guy. The WODs will be created to have work done as if it were a Male/Female team, but you can bring another female or male in to help with the work. Soooo, grab your best CrossFit gals and your best buddies, head over he hill, and crush some WODs! We’re out to see who owns the best fitness on the high desert!
Because is is a new format for a team competition, we expect some questions. Here are some sample WODs, that may or may not be used in the competition.
1. Complete for time: [Chipper style]
2. Complete for weight: 8:00 to establish 8 max Snatch lifts (4 male, 4 female). Score is the heaviest 4 male lifts + the heaviest 4 female lifts.
As you can see we are formatting the WODs such that the fittest 3 people will win, it should not matter if your “third wheel” is a male or female competitor… what will matter is your team strategy and skills and strength distribution!
The DESCHUTES DEMOLITIONTM is open to all level of athletes over the age of 18. All athletes are encouraged to familiarize themselves with different fitness domains; more specifically to have some exposure to CrossFit-style workouts and powerlifting. The Rx division includes all powerlifting, bodyweight, and gymnastic movements. The Scaled division will include lighter weight and less advanced movements than Rx. All athletes will be required to sign a waiver.
*–Entry fee cannot be refunded, but it can be transferred to another individual or team up to 1 week before the event.
